There’s been an outpour of tributes and sentiment for Greek Australian Terry Dimitiros Diomis, known fondly by the nickname ‘Tezza’, after he tragically passed away on January 15.
A fixture in the Macarthur region south-west of Sydney, he was a constant companion to many as the weekday after work drive announcer for local radio station My88FM.
Remembered as a loving father with an infectious personality, the 51-year-old had battled health issues for months before his passing, still it came as a shock.
A GoFundMe campaign started by a family friend to support the Diomis family in their time of need has at the time of writing exceeded its donation target.
Countless affirmations of the community’s love for Terry have been left on the page.

“We can’t imagine how heavy your hearts must be. What a heartbreaking shock and a devastating loss. Terry will be so dearly missed. Sending you all our love and lifting you all up in prayer,” said one donor.
“Terry you will be missed. Your memory will forever live in our hearts. Αιώνια η μνήμη (Memory Eternal),” said another.
An avid cyclist, Terry was a “beloved member” of the Camden Cycle Club which took to social media to memorialise their friend in light of his untimely death.
“Tezza wished nothing but the best for everyone around him and always went out of his way to make people happy and feel included. He had a story for every occasion and a big cheesy smile that would light up a room,” they wrote.
The club has a ‘Race for Tezza’ fundraiser for January 29, to help his family through their loss, with all race entries to be donated.
A celebration of live service will be held for Terry at C3 New Hope Mt Annan on Tuesday 31 January at 10.30am.
