“I feel honoured and privileged to receive this award for the Woman of the Year 2023, supporting the Agape Foundation. It can be difficult, especially for women, to accept and receive recognition for the work they do, especially as it comes from the heart, and I don’t do this work for the accolades.”

Zahos has worked with diverse people across her career, such as First Nations Australians, asylum seekers and people with disabilities. She offered emergency assistance to the victims of the Bali bombings, the asylum seekers on Christmas Island, Lesvos, Kenya and Iraq. Her most recent mission was the Russian war in Ukraine.
“In the spirit of International Women’s Day, I dedicate this award to the women of Ukraine who stayed behind during this conflict to support their husbands, their sons, and their brothers. Thank you to the Agape Foundation for helping the homeless or those sleeping rough on the streets. It’s a reminder that there is a lot going on in our own communities and people need support. I challenge people to go and get involved in local community groups go and volunteer and make a difference to one person, I guarantee it will be the most rewarding thing you can do,” she said addressing her community.
“The Heart of Women Awards is all about recognising women and young women alike, and their achievements and I could not be happier to have been recognised for supporting a worthy cause.”
