Greek-Australian actor Costas Mandylor has returned to the set of the horror film series Saw to shoot the seventh movie in the series.
The terrifying franchise began with the first film in 2004, but has since spilled into various other media streams.
The first Saw movie was originally created by Aussie director James Wan and screenwriter Leigh Whannell.
The two locals still remain with the franchise as executive producers.
Since it was debuted, Saw enjoyed much success both in and outside of the United States.
Subsequently, the series of sequels was produced by independent film company Lions Gate Entertainment. Critics have been both cruel and kind to the pictures.
Saw focuses on the fictional character of John Kramer aka the jigsaw killer. The Kramer character would rather lure his victims into horrific situations than kill them straight away. He labels these set up circumstances as tests. Each game manufactured by Kramer is designed to test the victim’s will to live via various forms of physical and physiological torture.
Born in Melbourne as Costas Theodosopoulos, Mandylor has appeared in four other features from the Saw saga.
His acting career spans almost 20 years, and he is best known for playing the role of Kenny in the 1990s U.S. drama series Picket Fences.
Mandylor also appeared in an episode of the supernatural television series Charmed.
He is an avid soccer fan and occassionally plays with Hollywood United Football Club, which is comprised mainly of celebrities and former professional players.
