The South Australia government is doubling down on its dedication to its diverse community with grants open to all community organisations for the 2023 Multicultural Festival.
The state government, as part of its ongoing commitment to the multicultural sector, has created three grant types for community associations to pick from to participate in this year’s Festival.
The event will be held on Sunday 12 November in Victoria Square/Tarntanyangga, Adelaide and is its third edition, having run in 2019 and 2021.
Zoe Pettison, SA minister for Multicultural Affairs, stated that these grants are designed to further aid the many different cultural-based groups in “promoting and showcasing multiculturalism in South Australia”.
“The Multicultural Festival Grants assist multicultural community organisations to participate in the 2023 Multicultural Festival to share their cultures, customs and traditions with all South Australians,” Ms Pettison said.
“I encourage multicultural community organisations to consider applying for a grant to be part of the 2023 Multicultural Festival.”
The minister stressed that these grants are part of the government’s ongoing commitment to multiculturalism, with the whole sector also receiving a sizeable boost in funding.
“In support of this commitment, an additional $16 million over four years has been allocated to programs that support the work of the multicultural sector,” said Ms Pettison.
The three grant types which organisations can apply for are the performance category (up to $500), the activity category (up to $500) and the stall category (up to $250), with each group only allowed to apply for one of these grants.
Applications, along with guidelines and further information, can be found and completed online at www.multicultural.sa.gov.au.
