Melbourne based singer songwriter Matt Katsis has announced a run of spring solo shows from now till mid-November as a follow up to his tour of the US.
Earlier in February, Katsis won first prize in the Bruthen Blues & Arts Festival’s International Musician’s Challenge – out of a total of 60 musical acts who entered the competition around Victoria.
First prize has seen Katsis jet-setting over to Southern Oregon, USA during July for two festivals and various venue performances.
In the lead up to the successful performance, he was road tripping up the west coast from Los Angeles from mid-June.
“Music really is the universal language and it’s been a pleasure sharing some of my music in your country America. All in all it has been a truly unique experience, from road tripping through California, Arizona, Nevada, Utah and here in Oregon seeing some seriously mind boggling scenery, amazing national parks and meeting like- minded people along the way,” Katsis wrote on his social media.”Huge thanks to the people who made this journey possible – The Fret Drifters, The Bruthen Blues & Arts Festival committee and sponsors for the amazing opportunity through the international musicians challenge to travel overseas, playing to audiences on the other side of the globe.”
For the upcoming shows, Katsis will be featuring his original songs as well as those of the artists who have influenced and inspired him along the way.
