Avondale are the champions for the 2023 season

South Melbourne put up a valiant effort, but in the end, they just couldn’t compete with the Italian juggernaut!

Avondale have made history this year by winning the Grand Final of the NPL Championship! In a thrilling match, the “Italian” team swept the “Greek” side with a 4-0 scoreline.

Zander Guy opened the scoring in the 27th minute with a beautiful deflected shot, while Zinni made it 2-0 seconds before the end of the first half with a stunning effort.

Bolard and Diaz put the icing on the cake with goals in the 79th and 92nd minutes respectively. Unfortunately, this is the second consecutive year South Melbourne have failed to emerge victorious from the grand final.

Avondale now look forward to building a team that will star every year and defend their title.
