The Greek Ministry of Climate Crisis and Civil Protection has announced the establishment of a state aid account aimed at assisting regions affected by natural disasters.

The initiative, known as the “State Aid Contributions by Individuals” account, welcomes donations from individuals and organisations willing to contribute to funding programs and actions that support disaster-stricken areas.

According to the Ministry, this account has been operational since 2021 and serves as a means for citizens, businesses, and institutions to learn about ways they can assist through their donations.

“By actively showing solidarity with regions grappling with natural disasters, everyone can play a part in their swift return to normalcy and the rapid restoration of ecosystems,” Kostas Giannakodimos, Counselor for Public Diplomacy and Head of Public Diplomacy Office.

Interested parties can find detailed information on how to make contributions on the website arogi.gov.gr/dorees.

Contributions to the State Aid account supplement the national and European resources mobilised by the government for the direct compensation and support of households, businesses, and farmers affected by natural disasters.

The funds also aid in the restoration of infrastructure and natural resources in the afflicted areas.

Donors interested in contributing to the State Aid account can deposit their donations to the following IBAN account:
