Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis in his message to the Greek people on Sunday said that the government remains adamant against the tax injustice and the tackling of tax evasion stating that “the money from tax evasion will return to the society for better health, for more funds to the education, more effective public security and defence and support to the new families”.

Additionally, Mitsotakis presented Independent Statistical Authority (ELSTAT) recent report according to which the unemployment dropped to 10 percent in September 2023. “Greece gradually becomes a more fair country with fewer inequalities”.

Main opposition SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance leader Stefanos Kasselakis in a post on his social media accounts on Sunday responded to Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis’ statement according to which “the money from the detection of tax evasion will return to the society” said: “I ask from the honest self-employed that are being collectively baptised “tax evaders” in order to pay 1,444 euros additional tax independent of their income, to inform me when they see Mitsotakis’ government returning their labours to the society”.
