Students of St Panteleimon Greek Orthodox Community of Dandenong school, teachers and proud parents, gathered together on Saturday 9 December for an end of year party themed around the Greek way of celebrating Christmas in Melbourne.
Church priest Fr Antonias Krinas marked the start of the celebratory event, followed by a welcome address by Jim Chrysostomou on behalf of the Greek Orthodox Community of Dandenong Board.

School Principal Niki Farfara-Pashos and Education Coordinator Georgios Diakogeorgiou also addressed attendees, prologuing the class presentations that followed.
Students of all ages incorporated the thematic of Xmas Greek celebrations in their performances, which included poetry, dances, singing and brief theatre plays.

Part of the event was the annual graduation and awards ceremony, with all children receiving a beautiful calendar in an initiative spearheaded by Mr Diakogeorgiou along with School Secretary Stamata Sideri.
Meanwhile, two students who excelled in class received scholarship awards, handed to them by sisters Eugenia and Charikleia Vagias, whose family has been sponsoring the scholarships every year. Christina Despoteri also took part in the awarding of scholarships.

Before the end of the celebrations, students took to the stage one last time to sing Christmas carols joined by their parents and grandparents present.
