AFL on a Sunday will be a cheap family affair, as the League makes moves to bring back crowd numbers.

Sunday football will be free for children under 15, giving families more incentive to make the trip.

Crowd numbers this year dropped by an average of 4,000 per game, leaving clubs to pledge a “back-to-basics” ticketing model for big matches and to make Sunday more family friendly.

In a ticketing shake up, the AFL has installed a price freeze on all general admission tickets – $25 for adults, $17 for concession and $5 for kids.

A user-friendly online ticket search tool will also be available on the AFL and club websites.

Other initiatives to improve the match-day experience include kick-to-kick after the siren at some venues, LED signage at Etihad Stadium and Wifi access for fans.
