A delegation of parliamentarians from a number of European countries will be visiting Australia in April to launch a new book titled Hagia Sophia The Churches of the Wisdom of God around the world.

The parliamentarians from Greece, Cyprus, Romania, Bulgaria and North Macedonia have been invited by the Australian Institute of Macedonian Studies (AIMS) and the Australian Institute for Hellenic Research (AIHER).

In a statement sent to Neos Kosmos, Anastasios Tamis from the Interparliamentary Assembly on Orthodoxy said that event will “promote the cultural aspects of Orthodoxy” and emphasise “the need for these monuments to be dully respected and preserved in their host countries.”

The event also has the full support and blessing of Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew of Constantinople as well the endorsement Archbishop Makarios.

The delegation is scheduled to arrive in Perth on April 11 and will also visit Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra over a two-week period.
