A 67-year-old woman thwarted a robbery at her convenience store using a rolling pin, in Iraklio, Crete. Her quick thinking and bravery prevented a potentially dangerous situation.
The incident occurred on Kalokairinos Avenue, where a would-be robber, armed with a long knife, attempted to steal money from the cash register.
Security camera footage shows the woman swiftly grabbing the rolling pin, which was conveniently located next to the register, and striking the assailant’s hand before chasing him out of the store.
The suspect fled the scene on a motorcycle and remains at large, according to local authorities.
The store registered under Ieremias Roussos (her husband) has been targeted before.
The woman’s son told local news website Creta 24 that his mother had previously used the rolling pin to defend against attacks.
