The 42nd Greek Festival of Sydney held a successful launch on Thursday night at The Grand Roxy in Brighton-Le-Sands.

The dinner event saw hundreds of guests turn out to celebrate the commencement of the 2024 Festival with numerous speeches delivered by special guests.

Among the speakers were Ioannis Mallikourtis, Consul General of Greece in Sydney, Steve Kamper, NSW Minister for Multiculturalism, Small Business, Lands and Property and Sport, Eleni Petinos, NSW Shadow Minister for Finance and for Sport, Bill Saravinovski, Mayor of Bayside Council, Danalis, Dr Edward Spence, Honorary Associate of the Department of Philosophy at the University of Sydney, Harry Danalis, GOC President Harry Danalis, and Nia Karteris, Festival Chair.

Among the attendees were Courtney Houssos, NSW Minister for Finance, Domestic Manufacturing and Government Procurement, and Natural Resources, mayors and municipal mayors from other Municipalities, Michael Kyriacou, the President of the Cyprus Community of NSW, various members of the GOC Board, representatives of national bodies, sponsors and media as well as many representatives from other community associations.
