Traditional dress meets traditional dance by MANASIS dancers in this year’s ‘Globe to Globe World Music’ event. Run by the Kingston Council, the annual Australia Day event took place in Namatijra Park in Clayton and stood as a celebration of Australia’s vast array of multiculturalism.

The event included a fusion of different cultures who were able to showcase their music. Carrying the Greek name were the MANASIS dancers, who performed a medley of traditional Greek dances and also conducted a ‘Zorba’ workshop with fellow festival attendees.

Participants described the workshop as a very proud moment which saw the binding together of people from different generations, religions and cultures to dance the ‘Zorba’ in harmony, celebrating Australian multiculturalism with pride.
