It is all in the hands of AEK heading into the final round of the regular season as they attempt to beat Aris in Thessaloniki and head into the play-offs in first place.
Enosi travels to face Aris at “Kleanthis Vikelidis” Stadium on Monday morning (AEDT) in the 26th round of the Greek Super League, and a victory would guarantee they head into the play-offs with the advantage over the rest of their title rivals.
The Double-headed eagle of the South have been perfect since becoming league leaders, though they will be wary of the threat Aris poses, who themselves can play without fear knowing that they have nothing to gain nor lose from the match unlike AEK.
PAOK will be desperately hoping their crosstown rivals can grab a result against AEK, though they will first and foremost need to beat Lamia at “Athanasios Diakos” ground.
The match could prove damaging for the Thessaloniki giants’ title ambitions if they fail to earn maximum points, meaning it is a must-win contest for them.
Likewise, Panathinaikos travels to play OFI and the Greens cannot afford to drop any points if they wish to give themselves a fighting chance in the play-offs as they pursue their first league title since the 2009/10 season.
Olympiacos battles Volos at “Georgios Karaiskakis” Stadium with the goal of securing their fifth straight league triumph, a run of form that has rejuvenated the Piraeus giants and put them back in contention for the premiership.
Giannina hosts Atromitos and the Epirutans will be craving a win as they aim to escape from last place.
Regardless of the result, Giannina is among the clubs that will be fighting for survival during the play-outs.
Another such side in Kifisia is also playing at home where they will strive to defeat another relegation-threatened club in Panetolikos.
The result of this bout could prove to be a massive confidence boost for either side as they begin their battle to avoid relegation.
Panserraikos meets with Asteras Tripolis at home and the ultimate goal for each club would be to snap their winless runs (six and five straight league games respectively), given both look to be relatively safe from the relegation scrap.
