Greece will be rolling with ‘Zari’ (dice) performed by Marina Satti for its upcoming Eurovision Song Contest. The music video for ‘Zari’ was directed by Australian filmmaker Zac Wiesel.

Greek broadcaster ERT officially unveiled the entry on a special presentation show, ‘Eurovision in Sight’, on ERT1, which was hosted by Fotis Sergoulopoulos and Jenny Melita.

The song, a blend of traditional, modern, and ethnographic elements, was released on Thursday evening on the artist’s YouTube channel.

‘Zari’ features predominantly Greek lyrics that explore themes of love and the risks inherent in life, likening uncertainties to a roll of the dice.

The song, co-written by Satti, OGΕ, Nick Kodonas, Kay Be, Jay Stolar, Gino The Ghost, and Jordan Palmer regarding the music, and VLOSPA, OGΕ, Satti, and Solmeister penning the lyrics, has sparked a range of reactions on social media platforms.

The stage appearance will be creatively directed by acclaimed choreographer Fokas Evangelinos, with choreography and movement direction by Mecnun Giasar (Majnoon) and art direction by NMR.

The Eurovision Song Contest is set to take place in Malmö, Sweden, with the first semi-final on Tuesday, May 7, the second semi-final on Thursday, May 9, and the grand final on Saturday, May 11. Satti is scheduled to perform during the first half of the second semi-final on Thursday, May 9.

Marina Satti’s performance marks Greece’s 44th appearance in the contest and coincides with the 50th anniversary of the country’s debut in the Eurovision Song Contest in 1974. Greece achieved victory in 2005 with Elena Paparizou’s “My Number One.”
