State League 1 Northwest group
* This weekend, Yarraville will seek their first league win. Sydenham Park will be hosted by Historic Doxa, with the sole aim of earning three points. In their previous match, the Greek Australian team drew 0-0 against Westgate FC.
*Clifton Hill faces a similar situation as they continue searching for their first league victory. The “Men from the Hill” are hopeful to achieve this goal in their upcoming game against Ballarat this weekend. In their last match, Clifton Hill ended in a goalless draw against Corio.
*This weekend, the Western Suburbs will get their home turf advantage, as they take on the Brimbank Stallions. Hopefully they can redeem themselves after their last matchday, where they suffered a 4-2 loss against Ballarat City.
State League 1 Southeast Group
* The struggling Malvern City is desperate to score some points this week. The iconic Greek Australian club is looking to turn things around and put some smiles on their fans’ faces. Last game, they suffered a 2-1 loss to Banyule City, but this week they have their sights set on Brandon Park.
* There’s a big face-off in store for Aris of Springvale this week. Pack your bags, because the team is heading to scenic Mornington to take on the hometown heroes in a match steeped in local football history. On the last matchday, the God of War reigned supreme, claiming a 1-0 win over Collingwood.
State League 2 Northwest group
* Get ready to witness Westvale United claim yet another victory this week. The Greek Australian team is on a roll after crushing Geelong Rangers 1-5 in their last game. This week, they’ll be hosting Hoppers Crossing and aiming for another triumph. It’s safe to say, this team is on fire!
* Mill Park will be traveling to Epping this week to face Whittlesea Rangers. The Greek Australian club has had a fantastic start to the new season, winning both of their first two games. In their previous match, they defeated Keilor Park with a score of 3-2.
*The unstoppable triad of this group is PAOK Altona. In their previous bout, Phoenix swatted away Hoppers Crossing with a 1-2 victory. As they gear up for Matchday 3, their sights are set on conquering Keilor Park and holding onto their reign at the top of the table, alongside the other two dynamic Greek Australian clubs.
State League 2 Southeast Group
* This week, the Bayside Argonauts will try to get back on track and find success. The “Argonauts” unexpectedly lost their previous match at home against Hampton East Brighton with a score of 2-3. On the weekend, they will make a trip to Bentleigh to participate in a Greek civil battle against the Cobras.
* The “Combras” took a brutal hit when they failed to notch a victory against Dandenong in the second round of the new season. The home team, Greater Dandenong, put on a show-stopping performance with five goals while the Greek Australian team could only muster up three.
* This weekend, Chisholm United is determined to climb out of the bottom of the standings. After two consecutive losses, they’re ready to go all out against Hampton East Brighton in their next match and snag their first points of the season. Unfortunately, their trip to Berwick ended in a 3-2 defeat. Looks like they forgot to pack their winning game plan.
State League 4 North group
* Get ready for some major drama this weekend as Darebin United and Thornbury United go head to head in a highly anticipated local derby. Apollon is gunning for victory to keep their rank in the top half intact, but unfortunately, they couldn’t quite match up to Watsonia Heights in their last match, suffering a painful 2-1 defeat.
* Get your popcorn ready because West Preston is about to roar into Glenroy and show those Lions who’s boss! With a victorious 3 – 2 win on Thornbury Athletics’ turf on matchday 2, the “Greens” are ready to dominate once again.
State League 4 East group
* Looks like the Waverley Wanderers are sprouting some wings and heading to Albert Park to take on the locals this weekend. The “Two-Headed Eagle” is determined to score big after their boring tie at Croydon. Let’s hope they can finally spread their wings and achieve their first win of the season.
State League 5 East group
* Looks like the folks in East Kew are off to a smashing start this season! With a dominating victory over Noble Park, the Red and Whites are now setting their sights on taking down Old Trinity Grammarians. Game on!
State League 5 North group
* This week, Keon Park is determined to defend their top spot in the standings. Their opponent? None other than La Trobe University. Oh, and did we mention that “AEK” took down Alphington in a 4-2 victory in matchday 2 of the new season?
