The Diaspora lawyer from Melbourne will run as a candidate for SYRIZA in the upcoming European elections.
Katerina Priftaki, originally from Sparta, Laconia, currently living and working in Melbourne. She studied Law at the Democritus University of Thrace and Business Administration and Leadership & Management in Melbourne.
Priftaki ran a law office in Athens as a member of the Athens Bar Association and served as the Director of the Molaoi Hospital and Deputy Director of the Sparti Hospital.Currently, she works at a law firm in Melbourne.
“As a member of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance and coordinator of SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance’s O.M in Australia, my goal is to represent Greeks in the European Parliament, wherever they reside, with determination and dynamism, with faith in the values of Democracy, Equality, and Solidarity,” she told Neos Kosmos.
According to SYRIZA HQ, Koumoundourou, “the process was judged completely successful, as more than 63,000 members and friends of the party participated, either by online vote or in person.”
The process resulted in 35 candidates for June 9, with the current Members of the European Parliament for SYRIZA-Progressive Alliance, Kostas Arvanitis and Elena Kountoura, naturally participating, while the party president will appoint five more candidates.
