On Saturday April 20, Fairfield in Melbourne played host its first cultural festival for 2024 – A Cultural Festival in Fairfield Village.
Wingrove St was closed and hosted live cultural performances on stage, children’s activities and entertainment, as well as roving artists entertaining through Station St.
At midday, a cohort of students from the MANASIS School of Greek Dance and Culture opened the festivities.
They showcased a number of traditional Greek folk dances and hosted a Zorba dance workshop, providing a non-stop glendi for everyone.
It was a day of cultural immersion with other cultures represented throughout the day including performances from African and Arabic drummers, Irish, Latin, Flamenco, Ukrainian, and Portuguese dancers.
