Outgoing Consul of Greece, Georgia Karasiotou, was honoured at a special reception at Government House, marking the end of her tenure in Western Australia.
Governor Chris Dawson praised Karasiotou for her outstanding service to the Greek community and her significant contributions during her four and a half years in the state.
As Karasiotou prepares to take up her new post in the Netherlands, the governor expressed gratitude for her exemplary representation of the Greek Diaspora.
Her efforts were particularly noted in the celebrations of the 100th anniversary of the Hellenic Community and Orthodox Church in Western Australia.
In conjunction with this farewell, the governor and his wife also hosted a reception for Asthma WA, celebrating its 60th anniversary.
CEO Anne Hallam highlighted the organisation’s milestones and achievements in respiratory health advocacy and research.
