State League 1 – North West Group

Clifton Hill rose to the occasion and conquered Corio on their own turf last weekend with a triumphant 1-0 victory. Now, they must brave the chilling winds of Ballarat as they face off against the formidable city squad.

Doxa Yarraville searched high and low for a silver lining in their match against Westgate, but came up empty-handed. The Hellenic heroes tried to tackle the challenges head on, but ended up being unable to conquer the home team, falling 2-0. Next up for Doxa is Sydenham Park.

The Western Suburbs team has been going through a rough patch lately. They suffered a heartbreaking loss at home last weekend against Ballarat City, ending with a score of 2-3. As a result, Suburbs are now in 11th place, just barely ahead of Strathmore. To add insult to injury, this weekend they’re up against the top-notch Brimbank Stallions on their turf.

State League 1 – Southeast Group

Malvern City continues to conquer all with their impressive footwork on the field. The latest victim? None other than the trailblazing Banyule. The Greek Australian team had the game in their control from the start, like master puppeteers. They left the stadium with another win, 3-1. Hats off to the star player, Andre Skapoulas, who shines brighter than a diamond on the field. It’s safe to say he’s got a bright future ahead, as long as he keeps slaying on the field. Next up, Malvern takes on Brandon Park in their own turf. Good luck, Park, you’ll need it!

Last weekend, Aris from Springvale South was dealt with an unfortunate defeat on their home turf. The “yellow and black” squad was up against Collingwood City and let’s just say, the match didn’t go according to plan. The visitors swept in with a four-goal lead, leaving the home fans feeling like they were living in a nightmare. And just when they thought things couldn’t get worse, the Greek Australian team is now preparing to face the menacing Mornington. Talk about a tough battle ahead.

State League 2 – North West Group

Westvale Olympic slammed Geelong Rangers in a thrilling 3-2 victory last weekend. Now they’re sitting pretty in 3rd place, just a hop, skip, and five points away from the top. Time to show Hoppers Crossing who’s boss on their turf this week.

Over the weekend, Hoppers Crossing got a taste of defeat thanks to Greek powerhouse PAOK from Altona. It was a classic case of “you snooze, you lose” as PAOK effortlessly scored a 4-0 win, leaving their opponents in the dust. But there’s no time for PAOK to rest on their laurels, as they now set their sights on their next victim, Keilor Park.

Keilor Park proved to be too strong for Mill Park, who struggled to keep up. Despite their efforts, they were outmatched and ended the game with a whopping 4-1 loss. Looks like Mill Park is in for another tough battle as they take on second place Whittlesea Rangers this week. Good luck with that!

State League 2 – Southeast Group

Hot on the heels of their glorious 3-1 triumph against Hampton East Brighton, the mighty Argonauts have sailed to the top of the standings. With their impressive performance and effortless win, they’re setting the bar high. Up next, Bayside braces for a scintillating derby against the Bentleigh United Cobras, with a heavy dose of Greek flair.

The “Cobras” from Bentleigh United are buzzing with enthusiasm as they head into the derby against Bayside Argonauts. After effortlessly crushing Greater Dandenong 3-0 last week, the “yellow and black” squad is feeling extra fierce in anticipation of the upcoming match.

Chisholm United got a not-so-friendly visit from Berwick City and came out with a not-so-friendly result of 1-2. But fear not Oakleigh side! They’re bouncing back this week by inviting the always dangerous and dazzling Hampton East Brighton to their turf. Should make for an entertaining match.

State League 4 – Eastern Group

The mighty Waverley Wanderers came, saw, and conquered with a stellar victory this past weekend. Despite the odds, they dethroned the reigning leader, Croydon, with a swift 1-0 score thanks to some seriously impressive football prowess. This week, our beloved 7th ranked Wanderers will go toe-to-toe with the 8th ranked Albert Park. Stay tuned for another epic match on the field

State League 4 – Northern Group

Darebin United is steadily moving closer to the top of the standings each week. Last weekend, Apollon defeated Watsonia Heights 1-0, bringing them to 4th place in the table, only three points behind the leader, Plenty Valley Lions. This weekend, the Greek Australian team will be playing at home against Thornbury Athletic.

Sitting cozily at fifth place on the table, we have West Preston. The Greens managed a thrilling 2-2 tie against Thornbury Athletic, treating the brave few football aficionados who braved the terrible weather to a goal-fueled show. And the fun continues as West Preston prepares to host the formidable Glenroy Lions this week.

State League 5 – Eastern Group

“East Kew shows no mercy once again, demolishing Noble Park with a 0-4 victory and solidifying their spot at the height of the table alongside Mount Waverley City. This weekend, the “Red and Whites” will reign supreme at the home of Old Trinity Grammarians, showcasing why they’re untouchable.

State League 5 – Northern Group

Looks like Keon Park AEK is on the rise, leaping up the rankings faster than Usain Bolt on cocaine. They just knocked Alphington out with a 4-1 win and are now gunning for the top spot, currently held by Heidelberg Stars. This week, they’ll be taking their yellow and black swagger on the road to take on La Trobe University. Good luck, boys.
