Next time you think that the ‘happily ever after’ tale is in extinction, remember the story of Soula and Steve Koutsogiannis.

The Melbourne couple is getting ready to celebrate six decades of marriage, and their vows are as strong as they were when they first met in their late teens.

“They both came to Australia in 1960 on the Patris, Steve at 16 years old and Soula 12 years old,” granddaughter Nadia Granger shares with Neos Kosmos.

But three years would pass before destiny brought them together.

They got married in Melbourne on 25 July 1964, Steve at 20 years of age, Soula at just 16.

Despite their young age, it didn’t prove a premature decision.

“They built a beautiful life in Australia and created a wonderful family,” Granger says.

The Koutsogiannis couple will be celebrating their 60 years of marriage next week, a milestone that has been the source of a son, a daughter, four grandchildren and three great grandchildren.

The team at Neos Kosmos wishes them every happiness. May they continue prospering together for many years to come.
