Kostas Antetokounmpo will miss Greece’s Olympic campaign after failing to recover from a knee injury.
Antetokounmpo underwent additional tests by the national team and Panathinaikos AKTOR Athens staff, which showed that the player won’t recover for the Olympic Games because of his knee injury.
During the 2023-24 season, he averaged 7 minutes, 2.6 points, 1.7 rebounds, and 3.3 PIR per game in 31 EuroLeague appearances for the title-winners Panathinaikos.
The 26-year-old also had a good showing in the Olympic Qualifying tournament, where he averaged 9 minutes, 3.0 points, 2.5 rebounds, and 1.0 EFF per game.
The former Los Angeles Lakers player is expected to be replace by either Nikos Chougkaz or Michalis Lountzis.
Greece is set to face Spain, Australia, and Canada in the stacked Group A in Paris.
