State League 1 – North West Group

The matchday 16 didn’t go well for Doxa Yarraville and Western Suburbs Panellinios. Both teams are gearing up for a derby that’s packed with history and nostalgia, but their recent performances were nothing short of a disaster. Yarraville got trampled 1-3 in their home turf by Brimbank Stallions, while Western Suburbs lost 2-0 to Upfield.

Mother Nature put a stop to the Westgate – Clifton Hill game last weekend, but this week the Greek Australian club prepares to take on Geelong for a nail-biting showdown.

State League 1 – Southeast Group

In last weekend’s showdown, South Springvale Aris showed off their spooky skills. The “yellow and black” scored a generous five goals against Mazenod, giving the visitors a haunting experience. If you dare, come watch Old Scotch try to outplay South Springvale at their home turf this week.

Malvern City is soaring! The unstoppable Greek Australian squad has claimed another victory, this time defeating Mornington 1 – 0. Next, they’ll take on the table leaders, Eltham Redbacks, in a highly-anticipated match at Malvern ground at 3pm on Saturday. Don’t miss out on this epic derby!

State League 2 – North West Group

Looks like Westvale Olympic took a tumble in their quest for glory. The Greek Australian squad was served a 3-1 defeat by Keilor Park, leaving them with a seven-point deficit. This weekend, they’ll have a chance to redeem themselves against the Whittlesea Rangers.

PAOK, the two-headed eagle from Altona East, spread its wings but could not soar against Geelong Rangers. Despite their valiant effort, they were unable to snatch the victory and ended up settling for a disappointing 1-1 draw. This weekend, they will take flight once again as they face Albion Rovers. Let’s hope they don’t get their feathers ruffled.

Looks like the “pigeons” of Mill Park were left grounded last week when their game against Uni Hill Eagles got rescheduled due to bad weather conditions. But fear not, this weekend they’ll be ready to spread their wings and take on Geelong Rangers. Fingers crossed for clear skies and beautiful goals.

State League 2 – Southeast Group

The Bayside Argonauts are reaching new heights every week, floating on cloud nine. Their dominance is unrivalled as they sit comfortably on top of the standings. Their last match was a demolition of Doncaster Rovers, scoring 5 goals away from home. This weekend, they’ll be rolling out the red carpet for the seventh-ranked Knox City. Let’s hope for another easy win for these Greek Australian superstars.

In a match against Hampton East Brighton, Bentleigh United was sadly outdone 3-1. The Cobras put up a good fight, but were no match for the sharp-shooting home team. Let’s hope this weekend they can slither their way to victory against Doncaster Rover.

The anticipated showdown between Knox City and Chisholm United ended up taking a rain check last weekend. But fear not, for those soggy pitches have cleared and now the mighty Oakleigh team is preparing to crush fifth-placed Mooroolbark this week.

State League 4 – Eastern Group

Waverley Wanderers A.E.K dominated Manningham Juventus with a 1-2 victory, proving that the “black and yellow” team is full of golden talent. Move over first place, Wanderers are climbing their way to the top with their impressive away win and now sitting pretty in 4th place. Next up, Monbulk Rangers will have the pleasure of visiting the Wanderers’ home turf.

State League 4 – Northern Group

Darebin United Apollon put up a fierce fight, but sadly the ferocious Plenty Valley Lions proved to be too much to handle. Looks like they’ll have to pounce back harder if they want to maintain their alpha status in the league. Next game, they’ll be taking their talents on the road to battle the Mooney Valley Knights at their turf. Will they come out roaring or whimpering like a kitten? Only time will tell.

Rain stopped play last week when West Preston and Moreland United went head to head. This week the “greens” are ready to roar in the den of the Plenty Valley Lions.

State League 5 – Eastern Group

Unfortunately, it seems like the East Kew Olympiacos team left their positive vibes at home when they travelled to face Old Melbournians. Better luck next time boys! But fear not, this week they’ll be playing in the comfort of their own backyard against Whitehorse United, who are currently floating in 11th place. Let’s hope the Red and Whites can use their home turf advantage to their benefit.

State League 5 – Northern Group

Watch out! The mighty Keon Park A.E.K is on fire, scoring goals and striking fear into their opponents. They crushed Roxburgh Park United 7-1 last week and are now just inches away from snatching the top spot. Can they do it against the formidable Heidelberg Stars this weekend? We’ll just have to wait and see. Go get ’em, Aekara!
