Business leader and fashion icon Angela Skrinos has been named as a finalist in seven different categories in the 2024 AusMumpreneur Awards.

The founder of Raglan Fashion Warehouse Sales and Melbournesecretsales is now a successful full-time business coach and has added digital marketing to her repertoire.

Fellow Greek Australians Athena Zotos and Christine Foudoulis have also been nominated for awards in the Customer Service and Business categories respectively.

Skrinos won awards in 2019, 2020 and 2021, but declined her nomination in 2023 as she restructured and worked as an AusMumpreneur judge that year.

During the COVID pandemic her business was challenged like all, so she set about successfully pivoting her business towards coaching others in starting or rescuing their own business on a full-time basis.

“The government shut us down – nearly the whole industry was shut down during COVID,” she said in a statement sent to Neos Kosmos.

“Thankfully, with the support of my team, I was able to find a way forward and come out of the crisis even stronger, but many people and businesses are still suffering.”

Skrinos is now helping other businesses across retail to pivot and rebuild.

Having spent a lifetime in business, she is still determined to grow, especially after the lessons learned during the pandemic.

“Never take your business for granted. Always keep learning and never be scared to pivot or change direction,” she said.

“Our minds are the most powerful thing we own, even if everything else fails, our minds can help us adjust, recreate and be even more successful than we were.”

Skrinos has been able to help open up businesses for others, “making their dreams become reality”, along with helping others pull their businesses back from the brink of liquidation and restoring and growing them.

She said another passion of hers is working with wholesalers to help them find new customers.

“Unfortunately, many business owners become so stressed and unsure of themselves that they lose the ability to see clearly and make good decisions.”

“I help them to rediscover their business’ strengths and markets and support them to drive growth and fall back in love with their business again.”

The winners of the 2024 AusMumpreneur Awards will be announced at the AusMumpreneur Conference, on August 16 at the Pullman Albert Park, Melbourne.

The public can already vote on the awards at the AusMumpreneur website.
