The new Consul General of Greece in Adelaide, Alexandra Theodoropoulos, held her first meeting with Bishop Silouan of Adelaide as she toured the Archiepiscopal Church of St Sophia (The Holy Wisdom of God) and the offices of the Diocese of Adelaide.
The new Consul General visited the Bishop this past Monday, accompanied by her son Jason and Father Charalampos Koutantos (who has been appointed as a teacher in Adelaide by the Ministry of Education of Greece).
The Greek diplomat received a warm welcome from the Bishop, on behalf of Archbishop Makarios of Australia, before getting a guided tour of the Church of St Sophia and the offices of the Diocese.
The Diocese of Adelaide offered lunch to the distinguished guests after which the Bishop received the Consul General in his office where they discussed matters of common interest and concern.
The Bishop informed Theodoropoulos about the diverse ecclesiastical, social, philanthropic, educational, cultural, missionary work of the Holy Archdiocese of Australia.
The Bishop then concluded the visit by handing a gift on behalf of Archbishop Makarios and wishing her a fruitful and beneficial tenure that will benefit all of Hellenism in South Australia.
