The Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia has announced that the Northern Territory Government has granted a 10,067 square meter plot of land to the Parish of St. Savvas of Kalymnos in Palmerston, Darwin.

The land allocation fulfills the parish’s request to establish a new church in the area, an effort that has been supported by the parish priest, team and parishioners.

The parish plans to construct a sacred temple, two event halls, auxiliary facilities, and a parking area with a capacity for 127 vehicles.

Expressing gratitude to the Northern Territory Government for supporting the needs of the Greek Orthodox community, the Archdiocese also extended its “prayers for health and strength to the Parish Priest, Father Christos Tsoraklidis, his dedicated team, and the devout parishioners” as well as hopes for the successful realisation of the project.
