State League 1 – North West Group

Clifton Hill is on a desperate hunt for victory, and victory alone, in their last game of the 2024 season. The Greek Australian squad will face off against Strathmore on their own turf, determined to secure their place in State League 1. They were handed a bitter 4-1 defeat by Doxa Yarraville last week..

After their win against Clifton Hill, Yarraville will travel to Corio to face the local club in the final matchday of the season.

Last week, the Western Suburbs squad swooped into Corios’ turf and emerged with a triumphant away victory. The Greek Australian gang certainly brought their A-game and claimed a 0-1 win. Now, on their own stomping grounds, Suburbs will take on Sydenham Park. Let’s see if they can keep the wins coming at home.

State League 1 – Southeast Group

The fearless Malvern team conquered Collingwood’s turf with a score of 3-5, proving that historic victories are always in style. The Greek Australian squad is set to end their smashing season at home this weekend, embracing their Hellenic roots as they take on South Springvale’s Aris.

Aris annihilated Gippsland United 1-2 in their own turf last week, and now they’re gearing up for a thrilling showdown with Malvern. The “yellow and black” squad has their sights set on promotion and if they can conquer Malvern and the White Eagles stumble against Eltham, then the Greek-Australian gang will score a sweet spot in VPL2. We had a chat with Aris’ boss Jim Simos to get his take on the season’s finale and the highly-anticipated Malvern match-up.

“Despite losing some key players this season, our team has proven to be a force to be reckoned with and has tirelessly fought until the very end. Our impressive performance may not have led to a championship yet, but we have faith that our young and talented players will surely lead us to victory in the near future.”

The upcoming match against Malvern could potentially be one of the most crucial matches in the club’s history and the Aris boss is looking forward to it.

“We’re pumped for our soon-to-be epic showdown with Malvern City. No telling what’ll go down, but we’re gonna leave it all out on the field and cross our fingers for a win. Our faithful supporters will surely fuel our fire. Hopefully we can all party together at the end of the 90 minutes. Our fanbase, faithfully showing up week after week, are the backbone of our team. We’re like one big happy family here.”

State League 2 – North West Group

Westvale Olympic claimed their ticket to State League 1 with a 2-1 victory over Hume United on their opponent’s turf. This week, they’ll be throwing a grand promotion party against Craigieburn City. Don’t miss the chance to join in on the celebration!

PAOK of Altona East took home another win, triumphing over Lalor United 2-1. As for their grand finale, Altona East will be facing Mill Park for their last game of the season.

It seems that Mill Park will strut into their derby against PAOK with their heads held high, fresh from a victorious away game against Albion Rovers (1-2). Let’s see if they can finish the season with another win.

State League 2 – Southeast Group

The Argonauts gave the Peninsula Strikers a run for their money in a match that ended in a thrilling goal-less tie. And now, the party is heading to Berwick City’s home turf as the Argonauts celebrate their well-deserved promotion to State League 1.

Chisholm United completely dominated Caulfield North on the field, leaving their opponents bruised and battered with a 7-2 victory. The small yet mighty group of Chisholm’s faithful fans who witnessed this epic triumph on Saturday night couldn’t contain their cheers. And now, the Oakleigh based club gets to take their skills back to their turf and show Doncaster Rovers who’s boss.

The showdown between Bentleigh United Cobras and Mooroolbark ended in a draw of 1-1. The Cobras are now slithering away to face Skye United for the last game of the season.

State League 4 – Eastern Group

Waverley Wanderers have taken over as kings of Kings Domain with a glorious 1-2 victory! But the real test will be against the Jets this week. Will AEK be able to keep their spot in the standings and snag a promotion to State League 3? Let the nail-biting commence!

State League 4 – Northern Group

Darebin United kept up their streak with a 1-1 tied score against Docklands Athletic, proving they’re no stranger to a challenge. And get ready, because this week’s match has Apollo playing on the turf of the Glenroy Lions – talk about wild.

West Preston got served a slice of humble pie with a 0-1 loss to Fawkner on their own turf. But the “Greens” aren’t crying, they’re just ready to turn up the heat and welcome Greenvale United this weekend.

State League 5 – Eastern Group

With a resounding 0-3 win, the mighty Olympiacos from Kew East have trampled the Templestowe Wolfes. They’re now just one game away from securing their promotion, and they plan to do it in style against East Bentleigh at their stomping grounds. A mere draw will do, but let’s face it, the “red and whites” always aim for perfection.

State League 5 – Northern Group

Can we take a moment to appreciate AEK of Keon Park’s bold ambition to snag a spot in State League 4? Their away game against Meadow Park this week is the ultimate test. And don’t forget, “Dikephalos” dominated Birrarung with a 4-1 victory in their last match!
