Archbishop Makarios was among roughly 350 distinguished leaders in Australia to take part in a formal reception at Parliament House on Monday in honour of King Charles III of the United Kingdom and Queen Camilla.

Archbishop Makarios of Australia had a warm handshake with King Charles and, during their brief dialogue, passed on to him the wishes and love of the Ecumenical Patriarch Bartholomew, as well as those of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of Australia.

The King expressed his appreciation for Patriarch Bartholomew’s wishes further praising the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese for their progress and the work they perform.

Archbishop Makarios will meet King Charles again today, Tuesday (22 October) as part of a reception organised by the NSW Government in which many religious leaders have been invited.
