Students from the Greek Community of Melbourne (GCM) Schools earned high accolades at this year’s Greek Public Speaking Festival, hosted by the Modern Greek Teachers Association of Victoria (MGTAV).

The awards ceremony took place on Thursday October 24, in Northcote, celebrating the linguistic talents of students from Greek schools across Victoria.

The annual competition, aimed at promoting Greek language proficiency, encourages students to showcase their skills in public speaking, contributing to the ongoing efforts to preserve and strengthen Greek language education in the state.

The GCM Schools have consistently taken part in this event, underscoring their dedication to fostering a deep connection with Greek heritage through education.

Notable GCM students who participated in the competition include Anastasia Hondros, Demetra Mead, Olivia Vlahos, Nikolaos Papantoniou, Isaak Cokalis, Despina Kyriakou, Angelina Kyriakou, Eleni Georgiou, Sophia Souhlas, Pavlos Dimitriou, Harry Vitanopoulos, Jessica Lagos, Evgenios Kolokithas, Sara Kolovos, and Fotini Kottaras.

In a press release sent to Neos Kosmos, the GCM Schools congratulated all participants, especially those who were awarded for their outstanding performances.

They also extend their gratitude to the dedicated teachers who worked tirelessly to prepare their students for the event.
