Members of the Tzanidakis Folklore Group arrived in Melbourne on Monday to participate in events commemorating the 158th anniversary of the Holocaust of the Arkadi Monastery.

Following a successful performance in Sydney last weekend, the group continued their visit with a stop at Melbourne’s Shrine of Remembrance on Monday, 11 November.

The visit coincided with the 90th anniversary of the shrine’s opening and served as a tribute to Australian veterans of the Battle of Crete, symbolising appreciation, respect, and a reinforcement of Australian-Greek friendship.

The group also visited the Hellenic-Australian Memorial.

The members of the Tzanidakis Folklore Group were invited to Australia by the Pancretan Association of Melbourne – Australia and the Cretan Brotherhood of Sydney and New South Wales.
