Ambassador of Greece to Australia, Stavros Venizelos, accompanied by his wife, Larissa Tikaidi, and the Consul General of Greece in Melbourne, Emmanuel Kakavelakis, visited AGAPI Care’s Head Office on Monday, 25 November.
The delegation toured AGAPI Care’s facilities, including the Head Office, the AGAPI Care Academy’s Day Program, and nearby centres.
They met with key representatives, including AGAPI Care President Arthur Evriniadis, Chief Executive Officer Mary Gakopoulos, and Committee Members Kathy Constantinou, Alex Panagiotopoulos, and Tony Tsourdalakis. The visitors also engaged with AGAPI Care staff and clients, witnessing firsthand the organization’s impactful work.
Ambassador Venizelos and his delegation expressed admiration for AGAPI Care’s commitment to supporting vulnerable members of the community.
They praised the organisation’s modern facilities, noting their welcoming design and positive atmosphere, which left a lasting impression.
Discussions during the visit centred on AGAPI Care’s initiatives and potential opportunities to enhance collaboration between Greece and the Greek-Australian community.
Ambassador Venizelos highlighted the importance of fostering inclusivity and improving support for individuals with disabilities.
The visit concluded on a heartwarming note, featuring a song performance by AGAPI Care’s Day Program clients, the exchange of gifts, and a shared commitment to strengthening ties and supporting the community.
