Justice has finally been served regarding a fatal attack outside a Sydney pub that resulted in the death of Lucio Stein Rodrigues.

Described as an “alcohol-fuelled violence of a high order” by Justice Peter Hall, culprit Nicholas Lambaditis was given a maximum jail term of nine years.

Pleading guilty to the manslaughter of the 34-year-old Brazilian, The Guardian reported that during the trial Lambaditis claimed he had been under the influence of alcohol, resulting in his ‘angry state of mind’.

The fatal one-punch attack took place in the early hours of November 3, 2013, while Lambaditis was out for his cousin’s bucks party.

After being refused entry to a bar, he became aggressive at which point he thought he overheard Mr Rodrigues’ friend, Eric Heward make a comment.

In a moment of rage, he struck Heward, which saw Mr Rodrigues step in to assist.

After punching Lambaditis, he was then struck with a punch that saw the victim hit his head on the pavement, resulting in his death two days later.

Jailed for a minimum of six years and nine months, Lambaditis will be eligible for parole in August 2020.
