2024 Year 12 graduate Jonathan Kellis was able to balance his soccer and academic pursuits to achieve an ATAR of 98.
Kellis’s achievement was accompanies by raw study scores of 45 in English, 45 in Physical Education, 46 in Legal Studies and a 46 in Business management.
Jonathan plays at an elite level for Melbourne City, and is a part of their NPL senior team.
“I am happy to have gotten such a score especially considering the difficulties associated with balancing soccer and academic pursuits,” he told Neos Kosmos.
Kellis has been a part of national Australian u17 camps and has trained often with the professional A-League team.

He also took part in an international tournament known as the Viareggio Cup in Italy representing Melbourne City for three weeks during Term 1 of school.
“My aspiration with soccer is to play in the A-League and then pursue a career in Europe with Greece as a dream destination,” he said.
Kellis’s dream of playing in Greece comes from his deep connection to his Greek heritage.
“I feel a strong bond to the culture which has been instilled by my immediate family as well as my cousins and grandparents, who are from Evia and Kalamata on my father’s side, and Sparta on my mother’s side.”
“However, I still want to continue with my studies at the same time as I want to balance my love for soccer with my academic desires.”
This desire is studying a double degree of commerce law at Monash University while simultaneously pursuing soccer and playing at Melbourne City.
