A Melbourne woman was shocked to find an invader in her Windsor home on Monday morning.
According to 9News, Flora Socratous was woken around 6am on January 6 by the sound of a window rod and confronted the home invader in her kitchen.
When Flora walked into her kitchen she saw a masked stranger with a backpack standing in front of her, so she pulled out her phone and started filming the encounter.
She began demanding answers on how they got into her home, what they were doing there and what they had in their backpack.
“I still can’t believe I found someone who I didn’t know, standing in my own home,” Flora said.
“I still can’t comprehend what actually happened, to be honest, I never thought something like this would ever happen to me – it was scary and confronting.”
The startled intruder, who appears to be male, hurried down the hall to the front door, only to realise it was locked.
They then pushed past Flora back into one of the bedrooms where they fled out an open window, then up the side of the house and over the fence.

Appearing on the Today Show this morning, Flora spoke more about what happened.
“He did ask me to not record him, but he lost that right when he entered my home,” she said.
“And he did push me around a little bit as you can see in the footage, then he exited the way he entered the house.”
Flora said she did grab the backpack before he escaped and whilst it was heavy, she is unsure if anything was taken – or if he had also broken into another nearby property before her.
“I’m in the process of moving, so I honestly don’t know if he did take anything,” she said.
“Now, every noise that I hear, I wonder, is there’s someone outside the house? I just don’t feel safe in my own home.”
