Nikolaos de Grece and Chrysi Vardinogianni exchanged vows in an intimate Byzantine-style ceremony at the historic Church of St. Nicholas Rangavas in Plaka.

The groom arrived shortly before 6pm, accompanied by former Queen Anne-Marie, just as he had for his sister Theodora’s wedding. Dressed in a classic blue suit, he awaited the arrival of the bride.

Chrysi Vardinogianni, accompanied by her father, George Vardinogiannis, and her son, made her entrance five minutes later. She wore a sleek lace gown embroidered with crystals, designed by renowned Greek designer Christos Costarellos. Her hair was styled with a tiara from Queen Anne-Marie’s collection. Her daughter, Karen, was one of the flower girls, anxiously awaiting her mother at the church.

The ceremony was conducted in accordance with Byzantine tradition, using crowns instead of the customary wedding wreaths, and the church remained unadorned for the occasion.

Following the ceremony, a private wedding reception was held at Castor Place in Piraeus, with only 75 guests in attendance. At the church, the gathering was even more exclusive, limited to just 50 guests. The newlyweds arrived first at the venue to personally welcome their guests and celebrate their union in an intimate setting.
