After nearly 45 years of serving fresh, high-quality produce, Con’s Fruit & Veg is closing its doors at the Adelaide Central Market as the family behind the stall—Con, Lina, Peter, and Christina—retires from trading.
The stall has been a cornerstone of the Market, known for its fresh produce, friendly service, and strong community spirit. As they prepare to say goodbye, customers are invited to visit and share their memories before the final day of trading on Saturday, March 29.
“On behalf of all traders, the Market community extends its gratitude to Con and his family for their dedication, hard work, and unwavering service over the decades,” an announcement on the Adelaide Central Market Facebook page said. “Come down this week to thank Con’s Fruit & Veg for the memories and wish the family well in their next chapter.”
While Stall 52 will temporarily close for a refresh, a new fruit and vegetable stall, SA Central Fresh, will open soon, continuing the tradition of delivering top-quality produce to Market shoppers.
