A meeting of the Federation of Greek Elderly Citizen Clubs of Melbourne & Victoria turned chaotic at the offices of PRONIA, with reports of a woman fainting, an ambulance being called, and alleged threats against Federation President John Kostoulias, who is said to have also sought police assistance.

According to Kostoulias, PRONIA has since informed him that he is no longer welcome at its offices, where the Federation is based, following Friday’s events.

Sources from PRONIA told Neos Kosmos that “Mr Kostoulias’ behaviour was unacceptable” and clarified that while the Federation remains welcome, its president is not.

The incident has sparked a wave of controversy, with letters and statements containing extraordinary claims reaching Neos Kosmos, as well as social media posts making serious accusations.

Our newspaper is investigating the matter, seeking to speak with those involved, and aims to publish a responsible and objective report in the coming days.
