Taekwondo talent Lucas Mamonitis has once again won gold, this time at the Sydney International Open.

It is a great result for him leading up to the 2025 World Taekwondo Cadet Championships in Fujairah, UAE next month, where he’ll represent Australia.

Mamonitis told Neos Kosmos it was a great feeling winning the gold medal at the Sydney event as it will give him more confidence leading up to the world championships.

He also just came back from a training camp in Canberra at the AIS, which he really enjoyed.

He said he learnt a lot there and it made him focus on different aspects of the sport, from training to recovery and nutrition.

He added he’s pumped for upcoming world championships and will give his all to make himself and his country proud.

Fellow young Taekwondo prodigy Nicole Striglogiannis will also represent Australia at the event.
