Arsenal are reportedly close to signing young attacking midfielder Konstantinos Karetsas for £38 million (over $79.2m AUD).

The 17-year-old Genk and Greece midfielder has been the centre of much attention across Europe with numerous clubs supposedly interested in him.

Now AMNA report that it is English Premier League giant Arsenal who are closing in on his signature.

The teenage star made his international debut for Greece in March and also became the youngest goalscorer for Greece in his second match against Scotland in the Nations League.

Born in Belgium to Greek parents, Karetsas played for Belgium until the U-21 level before deciding to opt for Greece.

He has been compared to Gunners captain Martin Odegaard and Olympique Lyonnais playmaker Rayan Cherki.

If this deal goes through, Karetsas would become the most expensive Greek transfer signing of all time – breaking the record held by Kostas Manolas when he swapped Roma for Napoli for £30m in 2019.

Last month, he won the best goal trophy at the Pro League Awards 2025, for the best players in the 1st and 2nd divisions of the 2024/25 Belgian soccer championships.
