Ott Tänak and co-driver Martin Järveoja have secured a long-awaited win for Hyundai, claiming victory at the EKO Acropolis Rally Greece, their first in eight months, with a commanding 32.8-second lead over Toyota’s Sébastien Ogier and Vincent Landais.
The Estonian pair held their nerve through a dramatic final day despite a setback on the Wolf Power Stage, where Tänak lost 16 seconds to Ogier due to a gearbox issue. The mechanical hiccup cost Tänak maximum Super Sunday points, which were instead claimed by the Frenchman.
Both crews shared stage honours on Sunday, winning two apiece. Meanwhile, Adrien Fourmaux and Alex Coria celebrated their return to the podium for the first time since January’s Monte Carlo Rally, finishing in third.
Elfyn Evans and Scott Martin finished fourth in their Toyota, preserving their lead in the drivers’ championship—though it has now been trimmed to just nine points over Ogier. Tänak’s victory lifts him to third, three points behind the Frenchman.
