Panagia Soumela Melbourne recently held its annual Biggest Morning Tea Fundraiser, raising $3,147 for Cancer Council.

The event on Sunday June 29, held at their club hall in Thomastown, was filled with raffles, games, live music and dancing.

Vice President John Katakalidis welcomed all before the day went into coin toss games, trivia, and bingo, led by Julia Kanidiadis and Tammy Papas.

“We’re incredibly grateful and proud of our community for coming together once again to make a real difference,” the organisation said in a statement sent to Neos Kosmos.

Following last year’s event, Panagia Soumela Melbourne set a goal of $2,000 this year, and they surpassed that by more than $1000.

The money raised, between the event and online, will be donated directly to the Cancer Council to support their work in cancer research, prevention, and patient support.
