The Greek Orthodox Parish of North Altona and the Church of the Dormition of our Lady in Hobsons Bay are set to celebrate 15 August, that being the great feast of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary.
The festive services will begin on Thursday, 14 August at 7pm with the Great Vespers.
On the day of the Dormition of the Virgin Mary, on Friday 15 August 15 at 7.30 am, the morning Service and solemn Divine Liturgy will be held as officiated by Archbishop Makarios.
The events will conclude on Sunday 17 August at 8 am with the morning prayer and Divine Liturgy as officiated by Bishop Kyriakos of Melbourne.
At 11 am, the parish’s annual festival will commence with Greek food, music and traditional entertainment in a warm gathering of joy and unity.
