Young Taekwondo prodigy Lucas Mamonitis has won gold once again, this time taking home two medals in Queensland.

On Friday August 15, Lucas competed in the Oceania President’s Cup, which many other countries from around the world competed in.

He took out the gold medal in his division, the 12-14-year Black Belt Cadet Male -49kg.

Then two days later on Sunday, he fought at the Australian Open and took out another gold medal in his division.

“Lucas told us how happy he was with the outcome and that to come home with two gold medals was a very proud moment for himself,” his father Phillip Mamonitis told Neos Kosmos.

“These two competitions are one of the biggest in Australia and to take out two gold medals is a massive achievement.

“We all know how hard Lucas trains and to come home with two victories is a remarkable outcome.”

The Oceania President’s Cup is a G3 event and the Australian Open G2 event, which means fighters from all over the world compete to earn points for potential Olympic games. Mainly for seniors.
