Panathinaikos is gearing up for the official start of its league campaign following its European assignments, with their first task being to defeat Levadiakos.

The “Trifylli” hosts the “blue-greens” at “Leoforos” Stadium on Monday morning (AEST) in the closing game of the Greek Super League’s second round.

It represents the beginning of the 2025-26 season for the Greens, who had last week’s game postponed so they could focus on their European qualifiers.

Panathinaikos will be eager to kick off their league campaign on a strong note as they strive to secure their first premiership since 2010.

Levadiakos comes into the clash with confidence after winning last weekend, while they will also be the fresher side given the Greens had to play midweek in Turkey, meaning they are as prepared as possible to cause a major upset.

PAOK and AEK are both seeking maximum points in their opening league games at home against Atromitos and Asteras Tripolis respectively.

The two Double-headed eagles of Greek football earned crucial wins last weekend and will no doubt want to make it two from two.

The Peristeriotes and the Arcadians will be hopeful to catch their opponents fatigued after their midweek European games, which is the one advantage they have coming into their matches.

Olympiacos travels away to face Volos in the opening game of the round on Sunday morning as they too try to make it two straight successes to kick off their title defence.

The Magnesia side will give their all to secure a win or draw and earn their first points of the season.

Aris hosts Panetolikos at “Kleanthis Vikelidis” ground with the stage set well for them to seal their second consecutive win at home to open their league campaign.

Larissa faces fellow recently promoted outfit Kifisia at home in what stands as an early chance to showcase who has the ability to remain in the top-flight.

Both teams will view the clash as a great opportunity to score a maiden win and get their season up and running.

Panserraikos challenges OFI at home with the Serres club ever so slightly better positioned to win against the Cretans, given they have yet to play after their scheduled game with Panathinaikos last week was postponed.
