Former finance minister Yanis Varoufakis will be in Melbourne next month as part of the Wheeler Centre’s ‘festival of questions’, The Interrobang.

The crowd-sourced program was curated from over 1,000 questions submitted online and will be answered by one of the ‘Brains Trust’ appearing at the festival.

Questions range from big and small, controversial, funny, insightful and thoughtful, and deal with everything from religion, beauty and the future of food to capitalism.

The question being posed to the former SYRIZA minister is, not surprisingly, political in nature: ‘Why marry capitalism with democracy?’

Varoufakis will be joined on the panel by news presenter, Mary Kostakidis who will be asked to present an answer to the same question.

The program is comprised of 26 events and includes group discussions, storytelling, snap lectures, intimate conversations and live quiz shows.

The Interrobang: A Festival of Questions will take place from 27 – 28 November. www.theinterrobang.wheelercentre.com
