The aroma of sardines filled Canterbury on Sunday, as the Mytilenian Brotherhood of Sydney & NSW hosted its annual Sardella Day at Mytilenian House.
The event was a sell-out, with families and friends packing the hall to enjoy traditional dishes including BBQ, fried and oven-baked sardella, along with a variety of mezethakia prepared by Messinia Catering Services.

Music and dancing set the festive tone, with performances by Ioannis Keligiannis, John Zaharis, Sam Christodoulidis, and Michael Platyrrahos, while the Sydney Greek Dancing School presented traditional Mytilenian dances before inviting guests to join in.
Community leaders and distinguished guests were also in attendance, including Peter Psomas, President of the Mytilenian Brotherhood, Emmanuel Valegeorgiou and Soula Gerasimou of the Samian Brotherhood of Sydney “O Lykourgos”, members of ELKA, author and filmmaker Billy Cotsis, and several past presidents of the Mytilenian Brotherhood.
