The holiday season is over, which means one thing for Greek Australians in Melbourne: it’s time to prepare for the Lonsdale Street Festival.
Preparations for the annual celebration of Greek culture, music, dance and food are underway.
The organisers are looking through the applications of those who responded to the open call for volunteers in December. Details for the program and the headliner have not been made public yet, though rumours are flying regarding one of the top singers travelling from Greece to entertain the crowd.
All questions will be answered in the next few weeks. In the meantime, Greeks in Melbourne should clear their schedule for the weekend of Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 February.
