Rapper DeAndre Cortez Way, aka Soulja Boy has signed a deal with digital television platform FilmOn owned and headed by Greek billionaire Alki David.
On May 11, the rapper and CEO of record label Stacks on Deck Entertainment took to Instagram to announce the news, posting a photo of himself with David and the caption “I’m in the fam @alkidavid”.
The news was also confirmed by David himself in a statement to the Atlanta Business Chronicle.
While the finances of the deal were not fully disclosed, it is believed to be around the $400 million mark following a tweet by Soulja Boy earlier in the month.
“$400 million deal confirmed. I still they think they low balled me though. I was thinking 2 or 3 billion,” tweeted the Grammy-nominee. Though FilmOn would not confirm whether the post related to the deal.
