Name: Alexandra Patrikios, Journalism student, 19.
Your greatest achievement(s)and how you reached them?
A toss up between finishing Year 12 in one piece, and making it through a whole viewing of Georgia Rule without having an aneurism.
Goal(s) for the future?
Looking to the far horizon, I’d have to say to fill Catherine Deveny’s vacancy on The Age’s backpage. In the comparatively shorter term, it would be to make it home in time to catch Antiques Roadshow.
Best moment of your life?
The single, elongated moment of a happy, indulged childhood.
One word that describes you the best: Curious.
Person(s) you most admire and why?
My sister, Kel, for making the move from Melbourne to Adelaide. A painful process indeed.
Most embarrassing moment?
Getting halfway through a verse of ‘Climb Every Mountain’ to an audience of 300 people, in my best ball gown and with an orchestra backing me – only to realize the microphone wasn’t on.
If I could say anything to the Greek community… Thank-you!
Favourite place to go or hang out at?
My dad’s library – it’s like Dumbeldore’s office, all contraptions and books. Just don’t tell him it was me that stained the carpet.
Song that I can’t get out of my head at the moment?
To the detriment of my mental health, Justin Bieber’s Baby. Sunrise has a lot to answer for.
Favourite Greek food?
Baklava. Enough said.
I can’t live without…
My Cavalier King Charles Spaniel, Baxter.
If I was Kevin Rudd for a day I would…
Take down Action Man Abbott once and for all by putting blue food-dye in the Parliament pool during his afternoon swim session. Try conducting a press conference looking like an extra from Avatar, Tony!
